Worship

Sundays at 9:30 am

Messiah New Hope is a smaller congregation. We usually worship less than 100 people, and think of ourselves as a family, so when you walk in the door you can expect a warm welcome.

For worship, we alternate between two different traditions. On the first and third Sundays we have a “traditional” Lutheran service following our hymnal: the pastor wears a robe, the service is very structured, and hymns are sung with piano or organ accompaniment. On the second and fourth Sundays we have a “contemporary” service: leadership is more casual, the service feels less structured, and a band leads the type of music you would hear on a Christian radio station.

At all our services you can expect to hear a message about God’s radical grace and unconditional love in Jesus Christ. We celebrate communion at all our services and, consistent with our beliefs about God’s grace, everyone is welcome to participate and receive God’s gifts in bread and wine.

We love having children present in worship. There’s always a special message as part of the service, activity bags are available when you come through the door, and the Pray-ground is a special area in the sanctuary with toys and activities for children. If, however, it better serves your family, there is also a nursery (designed with sensory sensitive children in mind) available if needed.
