As you may have noticed, we still have three unfilled outlines on the East wall of our entryway, ready to be filled with Jesus Mafa artwork.
Fay McClanahan would like to share in subscribing the Welcoming the Prodigal print, which corresponds to the vision statement value of grace. We have said that Messiah New Hope is to be a community of faith which welcomes people of every background, A People of Passionate Grace.
In order to subscribe that print in full, we need $175 from donor(s). Would you like to help get this permanent representation of our commitment to pursuing God's drema for us into place? You can contact Pastor Eric or just make your donation, with the notation: Jesus Mafa Artwork.
We also have two final pieces in the project to frame: A People of Passionate Praise and A People of Passionate Prayer. You can see details about these prints and the corresponding portions of our vision statement in the spots on our entryway wall that correspond to where they will be placed or look below. The cost of framing each print is $350. As with the other prints, you can contact Pastor Eric or just make your donation with the notation: Jesus Mafa Artwork.
The Vision of Messiah New Hope Lutheran
Church
11
The gifts he gave were … 12 to equip the saints for
the work
of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until
all of us
come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God,
to
maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ. 14 … 15 But
speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who
is the
head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and
knit
together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is
working
properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in
love.
Ephesians 4:11-13, 15-16
God’s vision is to see us grow together into the full
stature of his dear and only Son, Jesus Christ, our precious Lord and
Savior.

Jesus
and the Children - A People of Passionate Play (framing of this print
has been
subscribed)
The first
large-format Jesus Mafa print to be placed in the entryway of Messiah
New Hope
illustrates the eighth and last of the passions from the life of Christ
which
Messiah New Hope committed to embody in the vision statement adopted in
2000: Passionate Play.
In pursuit
of God's dream [for our church] Messiah New Hope will be...
A
PEOPLE of Passionate Play: Just as Jesus enjoyed his disciples
and
cherished good
times and laugher with them, so we will find ourselves together with
old
friends and new in many opportunities for fun and fellowship. A
playful
spirit will pervade every task.

The
Prodigal Son - A People of Passionate Grace (subscription of framing of
this
print has been subscribed)
A
PEOPLE of Passionate Grace: We will value
every person whom God sends us
because God
first loved them, and gave his only Son to die for them. People
with
diverse, painful and often scandalous histories will crowd to this
place of
grace, just as they crowded around the Master of grace, Jesus Christ,
into
whose full stature we are growing. Old perceptions and easy
prejudices
will be challenged and changed. Our unity will be a “unity of
faith
and of the knowledge of the Son of God.” The strong,
loving
and wise
Holy Spirit of Christ will hold together a large and extremely diverse
group of
people in one creative and multi-faceted community.

The Good Samaritan - A People of Passionate Purpose (subscription of framing of this print has been subscribed)

The Beatitudes - A People of Passionate Prayer (subscription of framing of this print is available)
A PEOPLE of Passionate Prayer: Prayer will pervade everything we do. Every member will be in prayer every day. Every group, every gathering, every effort, every need and concern will be surrounded by prayer. Many from beyond our church will seek the help and hope of the prayers of our community.

Mary and Martha - A People of Passionate Teaching and Learning (subscription of framing of this print has been subscribed)
A PEOPLE of
Passionate Teaching and Learning: Every
member will have a passionate desire to seek God through his word,
because
Jesus Christ was both student and teacher of the word who declared
that, for
him, the Word of God was like life-sustaining bread. Many
learning and
teaching opportunities will exist in small groups that match the
diverse needs
and dreams of our people.
