The High School youth meet at least once per month for fun and fellowship, and other activities are planned throughout the year for service, fundraising, and more. Details can be found outside the Youth Director's office. Simply Groceries Hy-Vee and Sunshine Gift Cards are a fundraising effort for Messiah New Hope Youth that occurs every time something everyone has to do happens: buy groceries or gas. Messiah New Hope Youth receives 5% when Hy-Vee or Sunshine Cards are bough at Messiah New Hope and used in the stor. They also work at Hy-Vee gas stations, which accept Hy-Vee cards for payment. Please stop by the Card Kiosk in the Multi-purpose Room or stop into the church any day during the week to get a Hy-Vee or Sunshine Card. Faith Milestones With our Sunday School and in collaboration with parents, building blocks of faith include learning the Apostles' Creed, the Ten Commandments and the Lord's Prayer. Other Faith Milestones include Baptism, entry into Sunday School, recieving a Bible in the 3rd Grade, annual Blessing of the Backpacks, First Communion, and completion of Elementary age Sunday School experience. Many more Milestones are contemplated or have been offered in some form. These can include: -Entry into Confimation Ministry (a Rite of Commitment by students, parents, teachers, guides and congregation) -Rite of Confirmation -Receiving a Driver's License -High School Graduation -Homecoming (a celebration with college students over Christmas break) -Going to camp for the first time -Sexuality and Christian Values (5th Grade) -Kids Entrusted with Money |
