How We Do Things
Messiah New Hope as
a
congregation elects representatives
to a
Governing Board which collaborates with the pastors and staff and
committees of
the church in overseeing the day to day operation of the congregation,
as well
as planning and implementing new initiatives.Messiah
New Hope has sought to create a permission-giving approach to
initiatives from
t
he congregation. This means that if someone would like to try
something or
create a new group we will look most diligently for ways to give
permission for
the initiative. Quite often, this doesn’t come with resources but it
may come
with support from staff or the Board in seeking success for the new
effort.
The Governing Board meets most third Thursdays of the month, beginning at 7 PM. Members with concerns or requests are welcome at this open meeting. Business from members is usually presented as near to the beginning of the meeting as possible. Those wishing to be heard can assist the Board by contacting the President, Mr. John Nordlie, well in advance of the meeting, so that the scope of your concern may be known and the other agenda items for that meeting might be taken into account.
Our
current governing board is made up of the following members.
