Usher:
Ushers help hand out
bulletins, greet people
as they enter the sanctuary, and help with
seating, as well as other duties. Every Sunday Morning
Service has a Head Usher, who is in charge of delegation and helps out
with duties.
Usher Duties
1. Arrive 20
minutes early!
Check in with Head Usher for instructions.
Check in at the Leadership Information Station for
supplies and name tags. PUT ON A NAME TAG!
2. Pass
out bulletins and warmly greet people as they arrive.
3. If you
see people standing at the back of the church scanning
for a place to sit as the worship area is filling up — please, help
them.
4. Close
the worship area doors 5 minutes after worship
begins. Remain seated near the rear entrance and watch for late
comers.
5. Pass
out the black Welcome Books as the announcements
begin.
6. Take the
offering. Have a Greeter help you with the offering.
Stand in the three “in-between aisles” to receive the offering.
Bring the offering forward when the Pastor indicates.
7. Count every
single man, woman and child in worship including worship
leaders.
8. After
Worship: collect used bulletins, straighten
chairs, extinguish candles.
9. Other
duties, questions: On certain Sundays there may be
other duties or you may have questions. That’s why step one is
important!
