Greeter:
Greeters
are the first people everyone sees as they walk through the door at
Messiah New Hope. Greeters hold the
door, say hello, and introduce themselves to guests and visitors.
A Greeter's Duties
The Greeter’s job is to make Sunday Morning Worship an inviting
place for every single person who walks through our door. You
share the love of Christ not so much by what you do but more by the WAY
YOU DO IT. It’s the little things that make the difference, such
as:
-Smiling and speaking to every person,
-Asking, “Can I help you?”
-Introducing Yourself to people you haven’t met before,
-Watching out for visitors who may need your assistance in finding
child care, a restroom, a changing table (located in the restroom on
the east side of the welcome area).
-Seeking out and visiting with new visitors after worship,
-Introducing new visitors to your friends or acquaintances at church,
-Going the extra mile to answer a person’s question,
-Resisting the temptation to visit with your friends which then causes
you to be inattentive to others,
-Wearing a name tag so that the visitor can easily identify you as
someone who can help,
-Arriving earlier than all of our other guests so that no one enters
our church without a warm greeting and without someone there to provide
assistance if it is needed.
