Confirmation (Affirmation of Baptism) is a process of formation in faith. Typically, Confirmation is taught to adolescent youth as a rite of passage from Sunday School to Adult Education. At Messiah New Hope, Confirmation is geared for 7th and 8th grade students. Having completed the class, they are then affirmed in the fall of the 9th grade year. We use a two year cycle for the class. Year A is Bible with roughly 2/3 of the year spent studying the Old Testament and 1/3 spent studying the New Testament. Year B is Traditions and History. During Year B students learn about the history of Christianity, our particular Lutheran Tradition, and even some other world traditions.
